384-well Electroporation Tool

Tod Flak was a co-developer of a tool for high-throughput electroporation.  A biotech company used the electroporation process for yeast in a 384-well plate. There was a similar tool on the market for 96-well plates, but we came up with a unique design for square-well 384-well plates.

Tool production process:

  • Worked together with another scientist to perfect design (design was later patented)

  • Produced necessary technical parts drawings

  • Worked with local machine shop to produce the gold-plated plates, and helped to assemble the tool
